What is Zirconium Teeth?
In today's dentistry, a realistic and natural appearance is
offered more than ever. In order to meet these expectations, we consider it our
duty to constantly improve ourselves and to use the most up-to-date
opportunities offered by technology more actively.
Zirconium crowns, which are popularly called "zircon teeth",
are materials that have the strength of stainless steel and the natural
refraction of glass porcelain. Thus, we can provide both a solid structure and
an aesthetic appearance in the teeth we cover with zirconium.
The reason why we can provide a much superior aesthetic
appearance with zirconium veneers than metal-supported porcelain veneers is
that zirconium veneers can refract the light coming from outside instead of
reflecting it and provide a natural appearance.
In case of gingival recession that may occur in the future,
the metal inside the metal supported porcelain crowns starts to reflect grayly
from the gingiva, while such a problem does not occur in zirconium crowns.
Zirconium crowns, which are processed with computer support
and transferring the measurements taken to the computer environment rather than
casting and handwork, are more compatible with the patient's own teeth than
metal-supported porcelains.
For this reason, we recommend zirconium dental crowns to our
patients in bridges or crowns to be made in the anterior regions.
